Anyone with CB on Camaro?

Alright, I installed my cb, and have one of those magnet mount antenna's. And I get some bad engine interfreance. I've been told those aren't the best antennas and that you have to get the thing in a certain postion cuase it uses the cars body. Anyone else have a cb installed? Where did ya mount your antenna?

Try making sure you have a good chassis ground from the battery if you're getting engine noise. Magnet mount antenna's only use the body of the car to stick to (thus, the magnet), not reception.

I don't personally own one, but a freind of mine had a mag mount that seemed to not be affected by it's position (which, it is mounted to a moving object, one would think position wouldn't be a big factor).

I put a CB in my Z for a trip I made a few years ago. I used the type of antenna that the base sticks to the glass on the inside, antenna mast sticks to the glass outside, directly opposing the base, of course. I mounted mine at the lowest point possible, center, on the rear hatch. It seemed to work pretty good. If your hatch is tinted, then you'll have to remove the tint where the base would go, and consequently leave the base in place since you'd have a square hole in the tint if you were to remove it... mine is still in place, even though I never use a radio anymore...
