I Just got a 84 Z28 which i'm going to restore, but ther'es two problems...

1. the hatch release doesn't work. I checked the relay in the console and it's good (and works when the switch is thrown), checked the fuse block, but can't get to the actual mechanism due to the trim being in place

2. The manual release i keep hearing about doesn't work iether, or i'm not doing it right. The key tumbler doesn't feel like it's doing anything, there's no positive relase, or pushing feeling when i turn the key, just mush...

any help would be appreciated.

Btw. i checked wiring diagrams, and all is good and working up in the console area, it's gotta be a problem farther back.

 

ughhh.... i found my answer in the one "hatch problem" result i didn't open... crappy solution to a crappy problem. oh well
