There is no cable, it's electronic, check for a short or just replace the speed sensor on the tranny, it's on the drivers side of the tranny back by the drive shaft. it's 50 bucks at O'Rally Borg Warner part so it has a life time warrenty.

Well I broke my speed sensor trying to hammer thru one of the transmission to trailing arm bolts so I had to buy a new one, thats how I know it's there and how it works on our 92s 91s

But it could also be the dash itself that the magnitic needle has died, lets hope not or you will be looking at the bone yards a long time for a new dash cluster.

Yep I think so too, all the thing on the tranny is, is a magnatic pick up so that would explain the jumpy needle if it's not picking it up.

Not that I've heard, mine was good still I broke it when I hit it with a hammer when trying to put the trailing arm blots back in.

So I think it's a rare thing.

i was just wondering, cuz when i was out driving this morning i noticed my speedo kinda jumping from 40KMH to 50KMH
so i came on here to see what i could find

i figure i might have pushed my needle on a little too tight when i had it out looking at it for some idea for a dash swap that im working on

thanks

Kyle

NOW wait a second if you don't have an electic speedo you don't have a mag pick up. 89 and below had cable driven speedos I believe and 90 and up had all electronic dashes and they had mag pick ups. So check your year.

i have a 92 and i know that its electric

its it possible to through the needle off if it is electric?
doesnt it work of the "signal" it gets so it wouldnt matter if the needle is moved or what have you ... ?

i found out driving home tonite that at the higher speeds the needle moved nicely but it was just in the lower speeds that it kind of jumps

best regards

Kyle
