Fan Switch
Fan Switch
I know this is a much talked about subject, but please hear me out. I have an 86 IROC 305 TPI with a Single fan. The aftermarket shows lower temp sensors for dual fan cars. I wam trying to find an OEM switch that i could use on this car that works in the 180-200 degree range. The connector looks like (_) It has two wires on it and it is located in the intake manifold under the water hose that goes to the Throttle Body. Any thoughts? I want to do it this way to stay away from hi dollar aftermarket systems Thanks for reading. Plater Tom

Bet you the one you are looking at is the wrong one.. even tough mine is an 89, I have a single fan. the sensor on the top of the engine is for the computer, if you look on the passanger side of the engine between cylinders 6 & 8. closer to 8. you will probably find another sensor. this is the one that controls the fan. getting a different sensor is easy, you can find one to replace it for the lower temp at either Summit or Jegs.. or anywhere else that sells aftermarket performance parts..
