Can you rebuild a headlight motor?

I bought my car about 4-5 months ago and went through hell replacing my driver's side headlight motor. Three pick&pulls and I ended up buying an older style headlight motor (mine's an 88 2-wire and I got an older 3-wire). It works all well and fine but now my passenger side motor is going. So I'm not looking forward to scrounging through junkyards again. Has anyone ever rebuilt these motors?

It depends on what's wrong with it. I've got some pix/descriptions on my site here though it looks to be down right now.

Grrrrr...

Headlight lags...

Well the headlight is beginning to lag behind the driver's side light when moving up or down. There is also the whining motor for seconds after the headlight has retracted (possibly after the headlight has popped up too, have to inspect that mode). I did check out your website and printed it off. I'm going to pop it open this weekend and see if I need to get the bearings or not.

Wish me luck!

P.S. Excellent site. I like it!
