When I stomp on it or rev it up the tach only goes up to 3000 and jump back down and up , but no higher. What up with that can anyone help. Thanks for any info.

I have a similar problem with mine but a little worse. Mine when I turn on the headlights kills my tach and oil guage. However if I turn my dash lights OFF they come back. I have traced mine out to be the plastice wiring on the back of the cluster. Try checking the Ohms cross the ground feed of it. See if that is where you are loosing the feed.
