headlamp doors
The head lamp doors on T/A do not work, that will not go up but they will go down. sounds like the motors work if they are pulling them down. What should try checking or replace? Thanks for you help.

The problem lies in the gearing inside the mechanism. If you take the gearbox apart and find a lot of broken nylon pieces then it can be repaired. There are 3 lobes that hold 3 small pieces of nylon, and they just transfer the rotation from the big gear to the arm that rises the light.
To repair this you can purchase 1/2" diameter by 1/2" long nylon spacers available form Ace Hardware. They fit between the lobes and allow the gear to rotate the arm.
If you need help with this, E-Mail me and I can give you more info.
BTW, sometimes the big nylon gear breaks and you will have to purchase a whole new unit. Otherwise the nylon spacers are just $.28 each. Ask the Ace floorperson for help finding them in their hardware drawers.
Good luck
