closed loop or not???
closed loop or not???
how can i tell if my car is going into closed loop or not? i changed my thermostat and now my car is running rich. i was told that a 160* thermo was too low and that my car doesn't go into closed loop. is this true? thanx

You should still go into closed loop with that thermostat. To check for open/closed loop, run the car and ground the ALDL,like when you check for trouble codes. One flash per second is closed loop, while 2 per second is open loop. Keep in mind that if you sit at a light for a while, or idle, you may go into open loop.
