To anyone who has or has used an Auto Xray. I just put new batteries in mine and the screen is really dark, just like a calculator or anything just about that uses this kind of display when you replace the battery.

My question is How the hell do you adjust the brightness/darkness of this? Ive looked through the book and through the different functions of the scanner. I have the one thats a milti scanner for all the vehicles, not just manufacturer specific.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Jack

If the unit is left in the sun, the display will turn black, temporarily, or the unit may need to be reset. Try removing the batteries & holding down the power button for 10 seconds, or so & then reinstall the batteries.

Try some older batteries. Not dead ones, just ones that have been used a little. The manual mentions an over-voltage situation created by fresh "long-life" batteries.

thanks guys, I had also posted this on the TPI page and the guy there said his book said some of the new batteries are basically overcharged and to leave the unit on for about 2 hours, which I tried now that the batteries are about where they are supposed to be its all good.

thanks again
