Wiring harness

My car is a 89 RS and I swapped the tbi for tpi and everything that I have for the tpi is from a 85. The last thing I have to figure out is the wiring harness. It is causing a lot of head aches.

Question #1:
Do I need the wires from the 85 tpi that come from the fuse box?

Question #2:
I have the 8 regular injectors and the 9th injector which is the CSI. But on the wiring harness there are 10 connectors that hook up to injectors. What is the extra one for? (It looks like it connects close to the front of the intake near the coolant temp sensor.)

Question #3:
Is an 85 alternator and air conditioner plugs the same as my 89? It doesn't seem like they are cause I couldn't find the same connectors on the 85 harness.

This is all I can think of so far to ask. I will have more questions probably after I work on it some more tomorrow.

In order..

The wiring from the drivers side should be pretty much non-essential to your ECM.

The 10th plug goes to the thermo-time switch which should be right next to the CST in the front of the intake base (it is the 2nd controller of the 9th injector).

There should be a round plug, female, that goes into the back of the compressor & a flat one w/a doide that plugs just under the back of the clutch on the a/c comp. My 84 camaro has the same compressor as my 87 bird.

That's about all I know, hopefully that helps some

Thanks, that gets me started. I don't have the thermo time switch for the 9th injector. Should I just not use it and block everything off for the CSI?

Jason you are going to need that switch for the 9th injector to work right if I am correct. I have been helping him do this and some of the wires just look weird. For example what looks like the connector for the charcoal canister is different from the 89 as compared to the 85 is that correct? Will we need to splice some of the connectors from the 89 onto the 85 wiring harness?

I'm not sure if the actual connectors are physically different but, the wires going to the EVAP solenoid should be black/pink stripe & dark green/yellow stripe from the ECM. As long as you splice them respective to thier sides of the connector), I wouldn't think there would be a problem.

With The cold start injector I would not worry about hooking it up. I went from MAF to MAP and have not got my 9th injector hooked up and no problems.

The 9th injector is only for start up, once the car is running it serves no purpose at all.
