gauge cluster

I have "idiot gauges" with no needles , which i hate. I have a 85 camro w/ the 2.8 and no tach. And i have a 86 camaro 2.8 parts car, which has the needles and a tach. Will the cluster w/ the tach work in my 85. And will the tach work to? And will it just plug in or do i have to splice sum wires?

Yes, you can swap them out directly. No wiring has to be change but, you need the proper sensors for the water & oil gauges to work,, the idiot light sensors will merely cause the gauges to peg out.

* a warning, as I have experienced, the replacement temp sensors are very inaccurate giving a overly high temp reading making one paranoid the car has a severe overheating problem. If possible, get on OEM sensor from a donor car.

OEM has a button (round) terminal
Replacement has a male spade terminal on it.

On my firebird, the temp is pushing over 220° w/out the 180° stat having even opened yet.
