the fat purple wire goes to the small terminal alone tha 3 small ones go to the center terminal together.

i'm having the same problem. I tried putting the wires like Riley's35089rs+ said and putting the other fat wire on the lower terminal but that made the starter run continuously and then I tried putting it on the terminal with the other three wires but got nothing. So the question still remains- where does that large wire from the battery go.

little purple wire goes to small turminal. All others go to the large terminal on the starter. IF you hook it up like that and it wont stop turning over you have a problem with either your starter or your ignition.

The purple wire may be making your starter run continously because you hooked it up to a turn key power source. It must be hooked up so that it gets 12v when the key is not forward but all the way forward as if you are going to start it. Do a search, I explained how to wire it in great detail . Just do the search under gtabadboy and look for a question about a starter or wires.
