Brights flash?
I was driving home the other day and flipped on my brights to see if I could spot any deer on the side of the road (makes me nervous after a particularly nasty encounter with a deer in my old buick century) and then something odd started happening, my brights flashed on and off for a few seconds then the lights went out completely not returning on, so I flipped off the brights and poof my lights came back on like nothing happened. Would this be related to a bent turning signal controller stick? Fuse? Headlight switch? Someone mentioned to me that this might be related to the possibility that the previous owner decided to upgrade the headlights but neglected to install a bigger control for them. Could this be the case? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am completely unfamiliar with car electrical systems.
Thanks,
Paul

If you hear the 'click-click' when you turn the high beams on then the switch is engauging & holding so a bent stalk shouldn't be the problem.
The problem might be with switch itself. Things unfortunatly don't last forever on our cars.
One simple test to check the light itself is turn on the high beams & lightly hit the headlamp to see if that causes the flicker.
I can't think of anything else at the moment, hope that's at least a start.
