I've yet to get some for my car but the ones I've seen around here are just turn signals. The 2 to the inside are brake/marker. Outside, turn. Might not be the case for all but, that's the way I see them (when paying attn.)

I've heard you're supposed to switch harness to do that swap but I've never known why since the standard bird lights have 2 bulbs for brakes & a seperate for turn. I can't imagine GM making 2 seperate harnesses (because of cost) for lights that function the same, minus colors

Heh,, You're doing what I might get around to being able to afford at some point.

i agree....that's not cost effective at all.....i can make it work either way, but i'm just concerned with having it right....i don't want a running light where it shouldn't be...or no running light where it should be, you know what i mean....i have new sockets to make it work....i just need definate confirmation of what that light does.....if you're right it'll be easier on me...if not i can still get it to work

Well,, like I say,, i'm just running off memory (which is fuzzy at best ) but if the grey matter is clicking,, the 85-90 t/a lights function just like the 91-92s wich have 2 red inner park/brake lights & a yellow/amber outer for signal. Like I say,, for the 85-90s it's not rock solid, but, if you have them work like the 91-92s, you can't be doing to wrong, that's how I planned mine to work (when/if I ever get the friggin things).

well the t/a doesn't have the amber/yellow light....it's all either red or white for the reverse....white reverse on the inside....two red running/brake lights and then the outer light which is in question...the regular firebird and the formula have the white revers, two red running/brake lights, one outer running light only, and a yellow/amber turn signal underneath them all.....i just have to be sure about that outer light.....and of course noone near me has a t/a...

The 91-92 t/a lights are the same way as the t/a lights you have, just, the outermost light, which is the turn signal(the light in question), is yellow/amber (whaterever color you like to call it). If I had a pic of the 2 I'd show you but I'm sure you realize what I'm saying (I hope if I was clear about that ).

you're right about that, my mistake, i forgot the 91-92's had the amber or yellow or whatever turn signal.....that does make sense for that to be the same on mine....i'm just very concerned w/ doing it correctly for the year my car is, you know what i mean, i don't want to pull up next to another T/A and the guy be able to tell mine wasn't originally a Trans Am....oh, one more thing in ref. to the lights.....my hazards don't work but my turns do....do the hazards make the turn signals flash or the brake lights on these kind of cars?
