I tried taking off my fog light to replace a bulb and the screw was stripped so i am unable to get the light off. What can I do to get it off?

You may wanna try posting this in the General tech board. You could drill out the screw and tap the hole. I hate it when that happens.

I don't know what the screw looks like, but you might be able to get enough grip on it with a small pair of vise grips... but that is only if it isn't a flush mount screw.

You can go get a stripped screw removal kit from a hardware store, I have seen a couple different types out there.

Use a dremel tool to make a slot in the top of the screw and unscrew with a flat head screwdriver. Only works if there is enough clearance. Last option. Break out the lens to get to the screws and replace with junkyard parts.

Aight, here's how it goes-

I recently changed a bulb on one of my fog lights, and let me tell you, that stock setup is a real b1tch to get around. You probably know that the license plate mount/airdamn insert need to be removed for you to even have a prayer of getting any sort of tool in there to get at it. The fog light screw itself only has thread on the tip of it, and the rest is just a solid bar. I dont know if that might be what you are talking about. In any case, mine had to be removed with a strong set of pliers, since the screw really didnt want to move anywhere. There is another screw at the top that you use for adjustment, and the only problem with that one is that the spring will pop off when that comes out and it makes it hard to put back on. Anyway, the bulb I did put in there exploded a week later because of exposure to the elements (the glass cover on that light fell off when some old lady backed into me). I guess halogens dont like rain...
