wiring nightmare about to give up
i just recently swapped motors from tpi to carb now as for the wiring where the hell do i begin it all looks like spegetti i hooked up the starter alt bat dist. and there is juice going to the dist and starter but when i turn the key nothing i can jump the starter and she cranks can it be cause the computer is hooked up still or something i have no idea about how wiring works like what i need and what i can rip out any help would be great
Dont know if you are still trying to figure it out, but heres a few ideas. First, is the car pre-89 or later? If its 89-92, you have a vats column, which will cause a no start condition. Second, if you have just ripped all your fuel injection down, start wiring from the basics. What power accesories do you have? And more important, are the wires to factory gauges still there?? It sounds like your igntion switch lead is interupted. If it is not a VATS column, could be a simple wiring problem. Repost more details and I can hopefully help you more.

Hey Man,
You may have a bad ignition switch...all you need to crank is one wire that goes to the ignition post on the starter solenoid.
Either that or the starter solenoid is on the blink. I had a similar situation and there ended up being a short in the wire from the ignition switch down to the starter...just run a new wire.
Hope that helps...
