Weird Headlight Question

I just bought my first car, a 1991 Camaro RS, about a month and a half ago. I bought the car from a lady that bought it new. She bought the car and drove it in Washington sate. She said that before she had the car alarm someone tried to break into the car. She said that they were unable to do so. She had the whole steering colum replaced.

OK That was the history

Now whenever I turn on my headlights both the dims and the brights come on. Someone told me that this was because someone tried to break into the car, however I don't belive him I thought that I would ask people that know what they are doing.

Can I fix this problem myself? If so how.

Thanks Tyler

I don't think so because I can pull out the **** and dims and brights come on. I can disconnect the brights and the dash still says that they are on?? I guess that could be the problem I'll try to find a new dimmer switch.

Thanks for your help:lala:
