Vats ???
Hi all got a good one here. just did a motor swap in a 1985 z28 it was tpi i went to carb took out the computer also. with every thing hooked up i crank it over and she starts no problem turn it off go back to start it and nothing but i have plenty of juice to everything. wait about 10 mins and same thing she will crank a few times then die
i was just going through some archives here and i noticed certain people had the same problems and they mention the vats does the 85 z28 have the vats and if so how do i take it out completely. thanks

Transmission: bolted to the engine
Vats did not come out until 86' and was only installed on the corvette. GM did not start putting vats in the camaro till 89'.

You'll see a "security" light blink on the dash when you start the car if it has VATS. Also the key will have the black plastic resistor with a small metal tab.
