HELP - diagnose no front turn signals / low beams!
Ok, this one's got me buggered. It's a 1991 RS. I yanked the dash and replaced the turn blinkers but no dice.
Symptoms...
No blinking turn signals. Rear works but doesn't blink because front don't work. Front ones DO light up but ONLY when I turn on the head lights. Still no reaction when I use the turn signal.
Also, when turning the headlights on I have no low beams. When I go to high beams all four lights turn on and work, but when I go back to low beams all four go out.
Anyone know what tha hangup is? Anyone got some ideas for what to look for?
I REALLY appreciate it since these are the very LAST gremlins on the car before it is 100% back on the road.

first off... check the grounds up there. they are fairly easy to get too
Start looking through the harness in the front that goes to the lights... sounds like you have a buggaboo
The lighting is in a separate harness up front. it runs along the frame rail on top, along the left side of the motor.
track it from the junction block, to the left headlights. it then passed infront of the radiator support, and onto the right headlights/ turnsignals. sounds like something's smashed bashed and crossed
follow itup there.. it's quite easy to get to compared to under the dashboard
if it's that bad, it should be obvious. you may have to pull the wiring out of the black plastic sheathing.
if the car was in an accident or the motor's been out... look closely at placest that could have been battered.

Agree with check for grounding in the harness. Also check to make sure you have the correct bulbw. My TA had 2257 bulbs up front instead of the correct 1157's. The 2257 are alike in every aspect except amperage and it was smoking my turn signals. If it's not that it sounds like a bad relay. Mine is near the battery. I replaced that too in the process.
