Alright here is my problem. I have an 88 and for some reason.. the pull down motor will seem to pull down but wont shut off? It will sometimes then most of the time it stays on. It just started doing this the other day. I noticed the black brush like thing had fallen farther down. I couldnt figure it out. So i just unplugged the power to it. Could it be that thing fallen, or maybe the motor going on it.
I would appreciate any imput..

 

If the motor continues to run, without shutting off, it is the classic symptom of a broken gear nut. I stock the parts to repair them. Do a search.
