Laptop ideas...

Hey everyone, I just got a 500mhz laptop that i plan to install in my 1992 350tpi trans am, i have two questions. First what is the cheapest way to connect the pc to my cars computer? I have seen cars with pc's installed that can collect realtime and saved data from the sensors. Is there a cable or kit that i would have to buy? Also i am unable to find a mount to hold the laptop like in the fast and furious movie where it is stationed in the passengers seat. Any help would be appreciated, i plan on posting all my pics of the process too. -mike

do a search for computer installed in car, I am working on this, much more efficent than that crap in the stupid movie you mentioned. You'll need a serial cable and some general computer knowledge to do this. ALong with wirring and etc.

That movie was not stupid. See my sig plus I have Shelby Cobra replica with 351W that killed a Z06 the other day (i wrote somewhere else about the excellent quality of that car--all good aftermarket parts; I built it from frame up, and about how "kit" cars get a bad name from retards putting ferrari bodies on fieros). I hate all of the little imports in that movie (except the orange supra--I am ok with straight sixes), but that movie was great. I don't know why but I loved it. I saw it six times in theater (where I have a hookup so that I get in free).

That's funny you mention Ferrari bodies on fieros. I saw one today. It was pretty cool looking, but I bet it was slow.
