spent an hour working of headlight motors

Took off the whole assembly, not to hard to do, just don't drop the parts down to the air dam or the many other plastic peices that are flat on the bottom. well got the assembly off, got the motor off, tried rotating it without taking the gear out (like they show for the 4th gens.), dind't work, so i tried taking the gear out, couldn't get it out, so i rotated it again. still no luck, I just now read Steves Trans Am page thingy. and im gonna follow that probably tomorrow or next weekend, i have way to many projects ahead of me, the worst part was i took alot of pictures thinking i could make a tech article, now i just have wasted pictures unless i can get it fixed.

Well you could always send me the pix and if they show anything better than the ones I have I can put them on my site as well.

I followed Steves instructions a few days ago, and thanks to him I have perfect up/down action!
BTW, I couldnt get anything larger than a 9mm ball bearing, but it worked fine.

I followed Steves directions (which are excellent) but turned out that someone had already rebuilt my motors. Mine was the modulator on the firewall that was bad. If the motors aren't spinning...it's not your gears.

I fixed mine by ordering from Rodney Dickmans Fiero web site. They have the same headlight motors as we do. The rebuild kits are really very cheap something 19 dollars for four rebuilds for my cars. The rebuild is easy for the passenger side but the drivers side you cannot take the plastic gear out until you first take the two small screws holding the motor in place
