Badgers ate my blower fan

My 83 Z28 has apparently had the dash out once or twice, the radio has been removed, wires are hanging out of it like it's the motherlode source for wires that hang down out of something or a couple of angry badgers were having rough sex under there (that would explain the stains and the headliner being ripped out). Everything seems to operate though so I'm not too worried except that the blower fan seems to be a little quirky. If I have the controller on Max Air, it blows fine. But when I put it on Heat, it stops blowing and won't start again unless I shut the car off and put it back on Air (something besides Heat). It's like a short or a circuit breaker but I can't find it. Is there a circuit breaker in the line somewhere? In the fuse box? Maybe the badger is just messing with me.

Thanks! I appreciate your help. I'm gonna tear into the dash as soon as I figure out how they F'ed up the rear brakes.

Check the "High Blower" relay, under the hood. You should also check the blower resistor.

Thanks guys. I'm just finishing up those brakes. The combination valve or proportioning valve under the master cylinder turned out to be clogged somehow. They make those on one of Jupiters moons and shoot them towards Earth so they eventually spiral down in an ever decreasing orbit and then, you can get one from your Chevy dealer.

Anyway, that's a great diagram and I'll check that stuff. I think it may actually be a bad blower now though. You know how it seems like they're always turning in there and just wear out? I think that may be the case here, it just gets hung up, then turns some and makes a he11 of a racket and stops.

I still got badger foreplay problems with my headliner. Apparently, they ripped it out and then peed gasoline, brake fluid, and anti-freeze all over everything before retiring to the dash for the main event. Damn badgers! Shouldn't be allowed to have cars.
