I popped the hatch from the console and I heard it go up, and then go right back down. I went back there, and the hatch opened, but the motor pulled right back down. Now I can't close the hatch again. How do I bring the motor back up? I tried hitting the switch again and tried using the key, neither worked. Thanks.

Are you sure it "went up" in the first place? The hatch can release without the motor moving up at all. If the gear nut is stripped the motor will sound as if it is working, but it isn't going anywhere. Try flicking the switch just to the left of the latch point. Maybe it is going bad and is jambed closed.

I'm pretty sure it went up, it has every other time. But I'll try that tomorrow sometime. Thanks.

Sounds like you gas struts are bad. The weight of the hatch never lifts off the pull-down actuator. Use your key and pull it open to check it out.

Yeah, the struts are bad. But I can't get the motor to come back up. I hit the switch and tried using the key and all it does is click. Any other ideas guys?

I had the same problem before. You need a straight screwdriver. You just insert it into the top of the hatch motor itself. there is a switch where the hatch would sit in the motor, if the switch is pushed in it thinks the hatch is closed and will raise up, if the switch is out, in ur case, it links that the hatch is open and won't raise back up. Just push the trunk release button again and hold in on the tab in your hatch motor with a screwdriver and it will come back up. Make sure to keep the screwdriver in place until it is all the way up.

I wish I could post a picture of it, but my digital camera won't zoomm in close enough to show it well. I'm glad it worked out OK, Lon.
