Engine: 5.7L 600cfm carb
Transmission: 700R4 (auto)
wich one is the VATS relay? (pic attached)

well, the subject says it all..... i cant figure out wich one of these two relays is the VATS relay. i need to bypass it so that i can start my car. (im converting from tpi -> carb)

I think I'm having the same problem w/my car!
Sorry can't help you out--but I'm gonna keep my eye on this one!
BTW--did you check the pas-key module? Also-did you check for wiring coming out of the steering column going to the module?
I've always heard those wires can go bad--somehow!

the relay on the bottem left corner is the start enable relay open it up and hold it closed while you start the car.see if that works?

ok, ill give that a shot, thanx for the info. as for the steering wheel colum, there are so many wires comeing out of that thing that i have no idea where to begin.....

You shouldn´t need to bypass the VATS just ´cause you´re switching systems. If you have a problem with the key, you can take it to get a copy made and they´ll read the correct code from your current key and make another one just like it. These chips on keys sometimes get dirty or worn and don´t make a good conection. Try that first! The VATS system is a good thing to have working, it gives your car a little more protection against thiefs.
