Mystery Harness
Mystery Harness
I've known about it for a long time, but never really questioned it. In my 91 RS, underneath the switch for the lights is just a piece of plastic but it looks like something should be there. My alarm light is in there now, but there has been a connector shoved in there since I've had it(going on 3 years). I would like to know what this is if anyone has any ideas. I can't really track it back to the source. I think this location is where the fog light switch would have been, but my did not come w/ fog lights(it has aftermarket ones that aren't hooked up). Any ideas guys? Thanks.
I'm going to have to guess it's part of a fog light harness.
My '92 Formula, with no factory fog lights, still has the plug behind the dash for the switch.
It's very common for cars to all be wired the same way, whether they come with particular options or not. I think the Japanese cars were more likely to do this than Americans, but American cars are starting to be built this way as well.

So got a question for ya then, in my camaro, I have a courtesy light by the feet for the passenger, but in my firebird... nada, but there is a little place down there that would be for it to mount in. So I looked for the harness or something, nothing..... But I do have the lights on the rearview mirror, could this be where it went, otherwise I want my Passenger foot well Courtesy light, he he

Yup, that harness is for fog lights. I don't know how far it goes, but that's what it is for.
As for the light question, my 92 RS has the wires there and mounting spot, but no light. Weird.
