power chip

Hello,

I have an 87 t/a with 5.0 tpi, r4 auto and 122k. I was thinking about getting a ''power chip" but don't know too much about it. How much more hp will I get and how much $ is it and how easy is the installation? Please respond to b.l.feld@att.net

Thanks,

Ben

No such thing as a "Power Chip" save your money for somethings that will give you real improvements.

Late model cars have electronically controlled shift points and line pressures, so installing a performance "chip" will have a very noticable effect on the way the car feels to drive.

Problem is that thirdgens do not have electronically controlled transmissions, and you won't notice much of a change in the way the car drives if you install a "chip" in your thirdgen. If your car is mostly stock, save your money for other things.
