Electronic or drivetrain question ???

Okay, here's the situation: I have a 1985 T/A with original 85 mph speedo, etc. etc., plan on installing a 120 mph electronic set of gauges. I've searched and searched for something to help me a little, but found nothing. Basically my car is NOT computer controlled any longer, so ECM issues won't need to be dealt with. I am running the stock 700R4 cable driven tranny in this beast and needing to switch it to electronic vss. I'm wanting to know if any VSS unit will work with the dash, because the unit is not available from the donor car I'm getting the dash from. Also, will the different layout of accessory gauges call for a different connector for the back of the instrument cluster, or will the printed circuit board route the info to the correct gauges?

Please post if I need to give any more information as it's very late and I'm kind of feeling a little froggy here.

i dont know if any vss would work, they might be calibrated for different gears but im not sure, but when i was going to convert from cable driven to electrical gauges i was told that you would have to put in new sensors to make it work for the elecrical gauges, oil pressure sensors, temp sensors and gas sensors in their respective places ie gas sensors in the gas tank... anyway i hope this helps you somewhat
