ok my car has no computer stuff(holley lol) and an electric fuel pump(holley again/non-factory) and i am getting rid of the guages for autometer that will all be wired in by me.

Now from looking near the pedals under the dash you see:


Fuse panel , Steering Column , 3-5 relays mounted upside down on metal plate

what do these relays on this metal plate bolted to the dash support do? What are they for and which ones can be removed based on the wires going to them....?

Sounds like the convience center. Is it right behind the ALDL connector? It has the buzzers (for when you leave the keys in the car when off, or when you leave the headlights on.) and a few flashers, and a some other things I think (cant remember exactly, its been a while since I've messed with it.)

As far as which wiring is safe to remove, you got me. Try getting a manual with wiring diagrams, that will help more than anything. I you need me too I can scan some of the diagrams for you. The best thing to do is unwrap all the wiring and (while looking at some of the diagrams) trace them to their terminations, then decide whether or not you need them.

i'm going to do a little more research on what is what. One of the relays I have already removed since it only had one wire going to it after I cut all the empty connectors out of the car.

it would be great if i had a diagram saying that the four? relays were this, this and ,this. If anyone has it that would be great.
