Firing order... is it #1 or #2???
Firing order... is it #1 or #2???
Ok guys, I just installed a new MSD blaster coil, plus rotor and cap and new MSD wires. The car seems to hesitate a bit on a stop and the volt meter jumps like something is wrong. Now this is how the wires are set on the car. Is this the correct setup?

I think that from the factory HEI systems looked like the second picture you posted and older points systems looked like the first.
As long as the rotor points to the right wire at the right time, you can start them wherever you like.

Just put #1 at top dead center and pull your rotor cap off and make sure the rotor is pointing at #1 spark plug wire. Then run them from there.
