tach ?s

My 91 RS was a six cylinder but i swapped a 350 into it. WHen driving the tach will rev up to 7000 before shifting. I was scared that my engine might blow but the other day my dad said the tach might be set for the v6. So my question is, is the tach for a v6 and therefore i need one for a v8 or does the computer control the tach and i just need to get it reconfigured?

yes the tach is for a v6, i dont know if you can just get an 8cyl tach (or gage pod because i think you'd have to get the whole thing if any thing). I just got an aftermarket tach and hooked it to the tach lead on the dist. cap. (smaller of the two).then you dont have to worry about accuracy

It's either just the tach or the the tach and the yellow box on the back of guage cluster also. You can get just the tach from the cluster if you find a v8 one.
