Rear Defroster

Okay, aside from the frost going away, how can i test if its working? do the wires in the glass get hot? does the glass get warm? I have 12 volts running the width of the rear hatch from strut to strut, and the indicator light goes on with the button, and it goes off when the relays turns it off. But im not sure if it works? Should I be able to feel warm glass or warm lines? Thanks in advance!

In colder outdoor temperatures, the glass never really gets warm. It only has to get slightly above freezing to de-ice, and slightly above the inside air temperature to defog. You may be able to detect warmth on the inside of the glass directly on the foil traces, or you could test the circuit load with an ammeter.
