tach needle stays at 0..

Car: 1987 iroc-z custom
Engine: 355 tuned port
Transmission: 5spd baby, only way to go
Axle/Gears: 3.45
tach needle stays at 0..
ive since installed my macewan gauges...
but now the tach needle doesnt move when turn the car onto the on position(it drops right to 0) and then when i start it and give it gas (to about 2500) it starts to move..
how do i go about getting this fixed..

oh if this helps i took the needle off when the car was off but the needle was at approx 2500rpm (all the other needles seem to be working)
but now the tach needle doesnt move when turn the car onto the on position(it drops right to 0) and then when i start it and give it gas (to about 2500) it starts to move..

By this do you mean it as in, starts to move normally ?
Just because the needle was at 'X'rpm when you popped it off...doesn't mean it stayed there.
If the needle moves as normal after 2500, I'd (personally) pop the needle back off while car is running at normal temp/idle and place it back on closely to where I believed it normally idled. Or.. it's just broke... I"m only guessing anyways
