need help with 84' starter wiring.

I replaced my engine wiring harness in my 84 TA since the old one was butchered. Now I can't figure out what all goes where. The computer and all computer wiring has all been ditched.
There is one fat orange wire, one smaller wire, and 2 fusible links.
Are these wires the only ones for the starter?
I think the fat orange wire goes to the big terminal of the solenoid along with the 2 fusible links, and the smaller wire goes to the "S" (small) terminal.
Is this correct?
I thought there were supposed to be 4 fusible links....

thanks
BTW - I searched and read every post and didn't find the answer

There should be a heavy gauge purple wire around there somewhere that goes to the 's' term of the starter. The purple wire should run to the bulkhead with the others. The 2 orange (or red) heavy ones are power to the fuse panel and the sort. Depending on year (and options I'd imagine), the # of fused power wires at the main starter lug varied.

I don't know if this will help you or not but this is for 82-83 'birds
(84 is pretty much the same).

Ignore the fact that I (just noticed) put 82-83 camaro on there by mistake
(note to self to eventually fix that)

thanks. but one more question...
Which wire is bigger...the main one going to the starter lug, or the one going to the S terminal?

I'm assuming the bigger wire goes to the lug, and the smaller one goes to the S terminal, BUT the connectors are switched around on my car. The connector for the S terminal is on the thick orange wire, and the thick (but smaller of the two) purple wire must have been cut at one time, because there's no connector on it. I think that it must have been connected to the lug before.

The purple wire is the same gauge as the orange wires. Normally, the purple wire has a very small o-ring terminal on it that fits only on the 's' terminal. Since you say this is replacement harness, it could very well be that someone has haked & spliced an orange wire onto the purple one. The best way to start hunting is seeing if there is a heavy gauge purple wire at the bulkhead and try to trace it to the starter (at least IMO) to see what happens to it along the way.
