Tachometer Installation

Hey everyone.. I'm trying to install a Tachometer into my 1987 Firebird V6. It says in the instructions to attach the signal wire to the negative terminal of the ignition coil. What exactly is the negative terminal? Any useful tips for me when doing this installation?

thanks

if i remember correctly

on your coil there should be a connecter w/ 2 wires one of which that goes to ur distributor (i think) and a thicker pink wire that goes to ur tach. thats what u need

the thicker PINK is the power to the coil.

the wire you want is WHITE.

this is the ground for the coil and what you hook up to a autometer tach(green wire)

Thanks guys. It was the white white I needed, I actually found it late last night while looking at wiring diagrams in my Haynes Manual. I installed it this morning at it looks great!
