lighting trouble

This is really bugging me and I hope there is someone out there who can help me. I drive an 85 IROC. Lately, I have been having an intermitten problem. At times, I have no tail lights......period. My turn signals are light solid only in the front. It seems like a sharp stomp on the brake pedal gets all the lights working again, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals, except for the right turn signal blinking a little slow. But it doesn't take long for them to go back out. I was troubleshooting today when the lights were working. I was moving wires with the signal on, nothing happened. The I hit the brake pedal and the light tail lights all died. The 4 ways blink in the front then, but nothing in the back. the cd player also acts funny. The lights on it blink with the turn signals when they are blinking really slow, but when they work right, the radio lights work right. It really has me stumped. I can fix anything on a F-16 and I can't fix this on my baby. It really bugs. Any info would be helpful. I doubt it is a bad blinker, and the flasher relay doesn't make sense because sometimes everything works right. With the tail lights and brake lights not always working, this has me worried that I will get rear ended. Anyone knowing anything, please let me know.

there is a ground wire going from the passenger side head to the chasis, it is bolted to the back of the head, if it is loose it will affect all the systems you talked about.

ground

How do I get to that ground you described. I had the car up on the lift this weekend......but couldn't see anything through the headers and all...........and from the top, it's tucked back in there. Any suggestions on how to get back to the ground?
