Power Problems

Power Problems

I'm having some power problems that might be audio related, I don't know.

System bumpin hard and clean; all the power shut off & on real fast

Other night just out for a drive and jammin away; all of a sudden all the power goes off and on real fast, twice. Like someone shut the key off and on real fast. engine died for a sec n everything.

seamed fine after I turned the radio down. but today it did not want to start, when I hit the start position on the key it would goto turn over but then like the whole system lost power, did that a few dozen times and then finally started and I went home.

what kinda battery and alternator are you running with your system, what does the voltage guage read when this problem starts happening. the system might be draining too much..

Check the batery terminals and cable connections, main power and ground connections at the starter and engine case, body grounds, and fusible links. If the engine actually stumbled, you lost all power or ground somewhere, and it isn't going to repair itself or get better over time.

its not a lose connection or a fuseable link.

I got a 108 amp upgrade alt and a duralast gold 1000cca batt

the volt meter is allwasy postive, past 13 but only when first started and cold.

not sure if it not starting had anything to do with the first time it went south cause right after it did that on and off thing, I got into a "dukes of hazzard" race down a long country road. And I drive allot of rough roads and something lose would of bitten me in the *** more often.

Almost like an over load and the whole system shuts down but what pary has the contro lto do that??? I rather smell some wirers burning before anything shuts off form over load, if a fuse aint popin.

Gumby,

I seen Rosco P. Coltrain and Boss Hogg messin' with your General Lee when you was parked at the Post Office!

But seriously, check the connections at the starter positive lead where the battery (+) and the fusible links meet. If that loosens up it will cause trouble like this.

alrighty, it just so darn cold out side I can't do much but shiver.

anyways just my bird has much better heat. I had to get out the wagon and even with cardboard blocking the radiator off, it take a good 10 mins for the heat to get luke warm.

I was hoping for an inside the car option.

I did put a new starter on it a few weks ago. hmmmm
