Hot headlight switch?

Hot headlight switch?
Is it just my car, or is this common?
I have a 1984 Firebird V6. If I have the headlights on for 2 hours, more or less the time from Sunnyvale, CA to Sacramento, CA. The headlight switch itself gets quite warm to the touch. I know it isn't going to melt, but should the switch be getting hot at all?
Yes I have replaced the stock headlights with the Sylvania extra brights, if that matters.

eh, i wouldn't worry about it, my dad has a 96 Z71 and a 01 Z71 and the radio's and almost all the controls get warm enough at night that they're uncomfortable to hold your fingers on...

my 87 had the same problem. Exctept that after about an hour the headlights would trun off. I would have to let the switch cool down and then they would come back on. I bought anouther OEM switch from NAPA for $20 and have not had a problem sence. Get a new switch that could be a firehazard.
