oil guage questions
ok I still got the v6 tach and oil gage in my car, I got a new tach which obviously has the oil gage on it, looking at my v6 one, it reads 0, 40, 80, 80 being as high as it goes on the guage, the new one I got on the v8 tach reads 0, 200, 400.... mine in the car now reads about 40 at idle, would this one read 200??? or still 80? V8 oil pressures are supose to be that high?? why such a difference, should I disassemble the v6 and use my guage in the v8 tach?
it sounds like you got a different gauge cluster, I have never seen an oil pressure gauge that reads that high, you may be confusing the water temp with the oil pressure due to the new cluster ( it may be layed out different than what your used to).

I thought of that but the red area is at 0 not at the high end where it would need to be for temp, and there is that oil symbol on it right next to the 400. I think it is weird, I have never seen an oil guage read this high, well what if it is metric would it change the numbers because of a different unit of measure or something??

It sounds like you got a metric oil pressure guage. I imagine that the needle will read at the same place as it did with your old one, but if it was 40 before it'd be 200 now. I don't have any direct experience with it, but that's what it seems like you've got going on!
