rear defroster

on my 91 RS when i turn on the rear defroster i only get a small portion of the window to defrost and the rest stays the same, what do i need to do? get a new window or something simpler and cheaper?

Must be a break in one of the wires. You can repair them with a kit that is for sale. Run a search for repair techniques or the kit will have instructions.

The kit is basically a small pot of silver paint that contains a conductive fluid. Look closely at the defroster strips and you should notice a break in one or some of them. Paint the fluid so that it connects the strips and it should work. You can't use the defroster for at least 4 hours after you apply the fluid though.
