Fog Lamp Troubles
OK, I need some help form one of you electrical wizards please. My fog lights were not working....I pulled the bulbs, tested good. I pulled the dash switch...tested good.
I checked the fuse....non existant. I grabbed a 15 amp fuse and went to insert it...kablooey...tried again...same result, blown fuse. I got my handy 12v testor out and found that the fuse socket was hot. Key was off, so I pulled out the switch, totally disconnecting it....fuse socket still hot. Just doesn't seem right to me. That fuse socket should not be constantly hot...should it? IF so...what do I do, disconnect battery and insert fuse? Any suggestions?

Check your fog light relay. it is located on the left fender at the front where the fender bolts to the bumper cover and core support. There is a opening in the fender, that's where it should be. And yes the fuse socket (one side ) will be hot with the key off because you can turn the lights on with the key off. For the fuse to blow when inserted means there is a short. Pull your relay out and try inserting a fuse, if it blows use your VOM to test continuity between the fuse box and switch working your way down to the fog lights. If it does not blow replace the relay.
