wiring kill switch to coil

i have been reading up on how to put a kill switch on the coil of your car so someone can not start it. I was wondering if anyone has any detailed instructions on how to do this. I know you may need a relay, and a switch somewhere in your car. But how exactly is it wired? what kind of relay do you need? and where can i get one? any help would be appreciated.

Wire a switch to a relay (well you don't REALLY NEED to use a relay).. heres a schematic...

i'm not actually sure on how much current the ignition pulls, but I'm sure under 10amps. go to pepboys or something and see what they have... look for a spdt relay, preferablly bosch

I'm a bigger fan of the starter interrupt method.

Interrupting the coil will keep the car from starting, sure, but it's still gonna crank and spray fuel, so they end up flooding your engine. Great. Gas all over the cylinders.

I suppose anything's better than coming up 1 car short of a ride home, though.

On the other hand, they'll make a lot of noise which just might attract your (or someone's) attention. A starter interrupt would be a silent deterrent.

I'll tell you this, both may be just the ticket. I just had my truck stolen from a Park-n-Ride on Monday. All I know, is that this weekend the GTA is getting as much theft resistance as possible. An alarm is pointless, when I worked in the junkyard, I could get around an alarm in like 5 minutes, but something that is hidden and incognito like a starter interrupt/ignition killer, noe that is something that would be tougher to locate.
