My battery keeps dying! We drove the car from florida to tennessee with no problems, but it seems to be that, after riding around in town, the battery dies after a couple of days. At night, whenever I come to a stop, the lights get dim and occationally the batter idiot light will come on, but when I step on the gas, they get brighter. I think that the alternator belt is loose, but I have tightened it several times, and it seems to keep loosening up. Any ideas on how to prevent this?

 

humm do you have the alternator bracket(s) on?

the way it sounds is that you have a v-belt system, i am not to familar with them and how they work.

but a loose belt could cause charging problems...
