MSD 6AL Question

MSD 6AL Question
I have an MSD 6AL. When it was installed the engine would run for apprx. 10-15 min. then cut-out.
After removing the MSD I have no such problems.
What part inside could cause such a problem?
Also, since then I have had to replace my alternator, could the lack of a properly funcitioning alternator cause the MSD to malfunction ie. insufficient juice to maintain the high energy spark?

1. Have you called MSD to ask them?
2. Could be a wire laying on something hot?
3. Where is the MSD box located? Is it sitting somewhere where it is getting hot and overheating?
4. Bad connection?
5. Have you tried it with a new alternator?
Since you said it runs for a while and then shuts off, it makes me think that something is getting hot.
