driver power window
searched but couldnt find something similiar to my problem. My driver window went down then 15 mins later it wont work. I know its not the motor cause there is no sound and also it doesnt dim my lights or use juice when i press the button. I tried switching the switches, didnt work. I connected wire to the contacts and it sparked so i know there is juice going to it. All fuses are fine. Still no power tho when i press the button. What is going on?????

I second the motor, but I would check the connection in the motor harness first before I start pulling the motor. They have a tendancy to loosen up.
Before you change the motor, pull the door panel and using compressed air, clean and blow every thing you can see, especially the connections to the motor. Most of the time, this problem is caused by dust in the motor or wire connections. To find out, the next time it does this to you, beat on the door panel close to the motor and see if it doesn't come up.

Gentlemen,
I have the same problem with my window now.
I just pulled it out of heated/dry storage and the pass. window doesn't work.
I'll take the panel off and see what gives.. dirt ??
My question:
How the heck do I get the door panel off?
Any tricks / things to know?
Thx, Pacer

True true, the door panels aren;t all that hard to get off. you do have to take out the door lock/power window panels as well as the armrest. The armrest has three 2 1/2 inch screws that are normally torx I think...not sure about that though. Anyway, you'll be suprsised at how little access you actually have to the window motor and the other mechanisms. You should have enough access to fix your problems though.
If you need me to scan and email you the directios for the dorr panel or anything like that, let me know and I'll get it to you.

That would be great!
If you have such directions you can email me at:
ron.poplawski@cibc.com
I doubt I would have problems getting it off, but every bit helps. I will be doing it on the weekend when shops are closed too.
Besides , the cars I have most experience on were built in the '70s.
Thx, Ron
