Headlight / motor / fuse
Hi, I was doing the wonderful "appoxy the gears in your headlights so they start to work" and found that flat out, one of my motors was just shot. So i jumped onto the ebay and bought a headlight motor that was said to fit my 3rd gen car. When it came in, this motor had 3 wires, and mine only had 2. Otherwise, the bolt patterns were the same. Me and the old man experiemented with some wiring patters and in that process blew the fuse to my headlights as is now my headlights and running lights do not turn on anymore. My question is this...
A.) Does anyone know how to wire the 3 wire headlight motors so that it may work properly with my other 2 wire motors?
B.) Where is this fuse that i blew?
I will right off the back apologize to all you firebird guru's out there for the stupidity and lack of knowledge, but im just a punk kid, and i have to learn somehow. Thanks for you help fellow 3rd gen fanatics!

The fuse should be in the fuse panel.
As far as wiring, I dont think there is a way to wire it in. The 2 wire units simply reversed electrical flow to run the motors in both directions.
The 3 wire system actually moved the grounds. Similiar to this diagram.

You'll have to get a different motor. Just so you know, '84-'86 Fieros used the same motors. '82-'84 Firebirds and TA's used a different syle. They have a 2 connectors and 4 wires( 2 wires per connector).
You need a motor from a '87-'92 Firebird or TA or a motor from a '87-'88 Fiero.
Hope this helps some.
