fog light wiring

hi. ummm i'm sure that this question has come up before, & i've searched the tech articles & both old & new forums here, & elsewhere, but i just can't find it.

anyways i want my fog lights to work when my parking lights do. as of now the switch only turns them on when the headlights are on. would it be possible for someone to direct me to an article, website, thread, or whatever that explains how to do this?

Thanks.

ahh well... mine don't. Your diagram there should be helpful, though. Thanks.

There isn;t really much to it...don;t let the diagram confuse you. Just splice the hot wire of each fog light to the hot wire of each parking light and you're done...just make sure you get the running hot on the parking light and not the signal hot wire. Pretty cut and dry. This is how I have the fog lamps set up on my IROC.

Anytime, make sure you find a good place to ground the fog lamps as well. I had to run about 14" of wire to the chassis to make sure I got a good ground.

Just as a side note, I know here in PA it is a law that if you turn on your high beams that your fog lights must turn off...

That is actaully a law? How strange. I always wondered why some fog lamps would turn off on newer cars when you hot the high beams on.

Yep, and it made installing the stock foglights into my Camaro a whole lot more complicated.... Otherwise I would've done it the easy way mentioned here! A lot of r i c e r s here with those aftermarket fog lights get busted for it. And pretty much any newer car that you can find with fog lights, they will turn off as soon as you turn on the high beams.

Hmm, yeah, my Maxima did that so I hardwired the fog lights in. I hated when they would turn off. Oh well, thanks for the info.
