air/fuel gauge with carb and no computer???????
air/fuel gauge with carb and no computer???????
is it possible to have an a/f gauge with a carb and no computer and if so which one can and should i use and also how would i hook it up??????????
YES it is, you will need the gauge and an O2 sensor with the fitting in your exhaust. then it's just a matter of following the directions with the gauge. as far as what kind goes, it's pretty much up to you, whatever style you like and fits the overall design of your interior.

sorry to jack your post, but if youve got a car with o2 already, can you run another o2 sensor just for the gauge? like adding a wideband sensor without running it to anything but the gauge?

Thats basically what a wideband is.... it has a wideband o2 sensor and wiring that you have to wire to the guage.
Whether you have an o2 already or not, doesnt matter. Wideband 02 can be added anywhere in the exhaust and wired to a guage to read whats going on.
You cant replace your stock o2 with wideband o2 unless you use one of the programable ports on the wideband o2 sensor to simulate the stock narrowband o2 so the stock computer will be happy. Or you can force open loop in the ecm with a new chip.

Re: air/fuel gauge with carb and no computer???????
I was wondering if placement of the sensor matters much when adding a wideband o2 sensor to a carb setup. I know a lot of headers have bungs for sensors so im guessign more towards the headers is the best location? I wouldnt want to drill and weld onto my headers if I added one, so in the exhaust after the header would be fine? Also if you get a gauge and sensor is there a way for logging the info without being a fuel injected setup? Do some guages have a hook up to read the data? I just remember seeing someone with a guage that bounced around everywhere and it was tough to get a good reading. I would like to be able to analyze the info after. Thanks for any help guys!

you can get some expensive gauges that have data logging ability. I had my wideband sensor in the y pipe right after my header collector and worked fine. Dont need it in the header but its nice if its right at the collector. Just make sure it can read all 4 cylinders as sometimes you can get the sensor in the collector but its close to 1 or 2 of the header primaries and only read those cylinders

I was looking at the innovate LM-2 basic kit and was wondering how people felt about the product if they used it. I have read problems with sensors due to the heat in the exhaust causing sensors to go bad quite often. Is there any truth to it? I will post a link to the website as well. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm2.php Thanks guys!
