tracking down a short

Firebird guru's i call on ye once again...

This is your classic fudge up. I have an 87 Forumla bird, and i got a shot headlight motor. It was the 2 terminal kind, but i ended up finding a 3 terminal motor for 5 bucks. Being a penny pincher, i pick it up and decided that because its a DC motor, one of those wires had to be an extra ground right? haha, oh, the classic thoughts before failures. Anways, i ground one i like, fire up the motor and :ow:: i fried something. Now my headlight motor on that side (drivers) doesn't do anything, up or down, my passenger light doesn't go down. And to top it off my dashlights don't come on when my headlights do. Any clues to what i blew? All my fuses check out.

thanks again for your help!
