Tested Resistance on VSS, NEED HELP

I just put a t56 transmission into my 86 Camaro and I am installing a Cable-X, which is a box that converts the electronic VSS on the t56 to a mechanical signal so I can use my stock speedo. My problem is I need to find the high side of the VSS to hook into the Cable-X, but when I test the resistance on both wires from the VSS my multi-meter doesn't show any readings at all. Please help, I want to get this thing working. How does the electronic VSS work, do I somehow need to get power to it?

Thanks

If your meter doesn't show anything (make sure it's set on "Ohms") then your sensor is toast. Make sure you get a good connection though and make sure you're testing the right wires.
